Ensuring the highest possible success rates with surgery requires much more than excellent pediatric orthopaedic surgeons. Successful surgery requires meticulous preparation in a number of areas. Skilled pediatric anesthesiologists, pediatric nurses, and surgical techs as well as an operating room, recovery room, and pre-operative area geared toward the care of children are necessary components of an excellent outcome from an operative experience. For this reason, all surgery performed by Children's Orthopaedics of Atlanta physicians is done at two operative centers at the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Campus.
Many procedures are performed on an outpatient basis. Your child’s health, procedure, and expected postoperative stay will determine whether the surgery can be performed in the outpatient center as opposed to the hospital surgery center. The two operative centers use identical equipment and competency criteria for staff to ensure the same premium level of care. |
