At Children's Orthopaedics of Atlanta (COA), not only do we sub-specialize in the orthopaedic treatment of children, our physicians go one step further. Our physicians often develop special interests and skills in a particular part of the child's body or a particular childhood disease, like the treatment of a child's foot and ankle.
For example, this very practice is connected to the early medical pioneers in the treatment of pediatric club foot. Still leading the country in the treatment of club foot, all of the physicians at COA are specially trained in the latest technique of treating clubfeet, Ponseti. In addition, treatment of the foot and ankle in kids often includes casting. Our physicians use a special casting material that does not require any cutting, making the experience much easier for you and your young child. These are examples of why COA should be caring for your child’s foot and ankle issues. Dr. Jed Axelrod has developed a special interest in treating children with club foot.
The following videos will provide you with additional information about conditions of the pediatric foot and ankle.
