The holidays at COA are always a busy time of the year. This year was no exception. With children out of school, many families chose to have postponed elective surgical procedures performed. The doctors and staff at COA dedicated many hours to ensuring these families had outstanding care, accessible treatment and outstanding service.
Honoring our specialty of treating children, it was no surprise to find the COA staff interjected some of their own holiday cheer into the office. In fact, as a group, the staff donated $700 of their own money to the Fragile Kids Foundation in honor of the COA doctors. The Fragile Kids Foundation provides assistance to medically fragile children. Assistance includes rehabilitation equipment and quality of life enhancing products that are not covered by private insurance, Medicaid or Georgia’s PeachCare system.
To top it off, the practice experienced another growth spurt this holiday season. In November, Dr. Robert J. Montero came to practice at COA from Charlottesville, Virginia. He brings with him a unique clinical expertise in non-operative pediatric orthopaedics. He is already treating patients in Alpharetta, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Marietta and at the Meridian Mark location.
The office at Meridian Mark also began expanding its physical space during the holidays. Coming soon, there will be additional treatment areas (one dedicated to Sports Medicine patients) and the waiting room is undergoing a “face lift” as well.
At the dawn of 2012, COA is anticipating an exciting new year. Be on the lookout for a new 24 hour/7 days a week improved appointment scheduling, the launch of the electronic medical record (EMR) and a new location in Gwinnett. In addition, COA will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary in practice.
COA wants to sincerely thank you for letting us care for your family in 2011. We are also hopeful that when and if your child should need orthopaedics care in 2012, you will choose us again.
